This is actually more representative of what we do than drink Margaritas. Us and every other boater down here………and everywhere! Mazatlan – Mexico
This is Jesus of Total Yacht Works here in Mazatlan. These guys were terrefic and a bit over extended. Jesus is installing the new refrigerator drain here. Mazatlan – Mexico
Raphael is mechanic and frig/freeze guru for Total Yacht Works. When a solution didn’t appear possible, he and Bob Buchanan (major Chefe – chief) figured it out. Mazatlan – Mexico
Bob doesn’t like his picture taken. Did you guess?….:) He’s actually much better looking and this photo does him no justice. He’s also calm and collected about all things boat….. Mazatlan – Mexico
This is Joel (pronounced “Hoel”). He is an independant word working guy and also did a terrific job. Very creative in solving lots of little “issues” that all boats have. Mazatlan – Mexico
If you ever, ever wonder how I spend my days, this photo sums up quite a lot of it…. Mazatlan – Mexico
Cindy was “El Norte” so I took advantage of this time to have Joel make an absolute mess of the entire boat and refinish the wood trim in the galley (kitchen). Dust was the order of the week. Mazatlan – Mexico
You can see working on a boat can require some extrodinary physical positions. Joel is standing 4 feet above the cabin floor here. Mazatlan – Mexico
Oscar showed up one day and said he wanted me to give him a job. So I did. He waxed the boat, cleaned everything, polished the metal and was a general all around help. He also spoke perfect English as did Raphael from Total Yacht Works. Mazatlan – Mexico
This is how our days went for 3 1/2 weeks straight. Cindy was getting a bit overwhelmed…..so was I. Mazatlan – Mexico
This is one of the reasons Oscar had lots to do. You can imagine what the boat looked like after these guys showed up every where, every day. Mazatlan – Mexico
This photo is from our slip at Marina Mazatlan, the best overall Marina experience we’ve had in Mexico. Mazatlan – Mexico
Well we did have time for a little fun. This was the day of the dead ceremony which is a big deal here in Mexico. It’s the day after Halloween. The cart is pulling free beer for everyone. The holiday is all about making food and sharing it with ones departed relatives. Mazatlan – Mexico
Many of the locals were on parade in costume and we felt like we were on a ride in Disneyland. Mazatlan – Mexico
We saw this little catamaran tooling around the Marina named “Miss Cindy”……we had to ask! Mazatlan – Mexico
Tony came by for a visit and told us of his tales with “Miss Cindy”. He has a Cindy near and dear to his heart too. Mazatlan – Mexico
The above and below spaces are where our refrigerator and freezer lives. From the intense humidity in the summer heat, the boxes “sweat”. This creates water damage to the surrounding wood, so we added stainless steel drip pans…..We did this twice as the first time we discovered we needed a little tweak. You can imagine what fun it is to live in this mayhem. Forturnately, Cindy was up north visiting her Dad and sisters for most of this mess. Mazatlan – Mexico
This is Elvira and her fiance’ Ramiro. She is the BEST MARINA MANAGER IN THE WORLD!!!!! Period. Elvira helped us with more things than I can count. AND, she’s really nice (and cute too!). What a lucky guy Ramiro is and he’s an ear, nose and throat Dr.too. Mazatlan – Mexico
Rene Ditton is on the right, she and her husband Mike are from Ventura, CA and are on s/v “Ahea Kali”. We first met them at San Ignacio Lagoon where they recommeded we go. Still one of THE highlights of our trip. Where Cindy got to pet the baby whale. Mazatlan – Mexico
This is Mike Ditton of s/v “Ahea Kali”, Rene’s other half. They were the major force behind the cruisers Thanksgiving here where approximately 180 folks showed up. Mazatlan – Mexico
Chris (on the left) of s/v Antipides and I spent many hours together in the internet room. The couple on the right are the owners of s/v “Lovely Rita”. Debbie and John. We heard how he had fallen overboard and she saved him last year and how he had a cerebral accident while on top of the mast (way in the past) and yet got himself down! Mazatlan – Mexico
Larry of s/v “Viking Son” is on the left. He’s a great guy. The other guys are Mike and Mike, I just can’t remember their boat names. They held down the watering hole for the Cruisers Thanksgiving. .70 cent Margaritas…. Mazatlan – Mexico

This is Diane and Bill (what a handsome couple) of the Catana 43 catamaran s/v “Wirewalker”. We have a lot in common including seeing the world on two hulls. We may catch up with them in “Z” town (Zihuatenjo) early next year. Mazatlan – Mexico
I really enjoyed Larry Olafson. I’ll miss him and hope to keep in touch. He’s ar retired “Canadian Mountie”….and a sweet teddy bear of a guy. Mazatlan – Mexico
We had a great dinner, lovely conversations and caught up with friends new and old. Everyone here has quite a lot in common. Boat projects and sea stories for the most part…….imagine that! Mazatlan – Mexico
This is Sandy Moore with Cindy. They became good buddies here in Mazatlan. Sandy will be heading south soon on a new boat and we may cross paths yet again……..We’re off tommorrow for Cabo del San Jose for a short fuel and provision stop (near Cabo San Lucas – 175 miles due west). Then next monday, we’re off to the Revillagigedos for what we hope will be THE highlight of our trip. Diving with the Manta Rays (and sharks) of San Benedicto and Socorro Islands. (Google Search them for fun). The islands are way offshore, about 275 miles SSW of Cabo San Lucas….. KIT, Scott and Cindy Mazatlan – Mexico
Heres the first attempt and you can see the water hasn’t drained. We added more drains. Mazatlan – Mexico
This is our living room, with frig and freezer sitting in…. Oh I’m glad Cindy wasn’t here for this. Mazatlan – Mexico
