Krakatoa in a dramatic eruption, CLICK HERE TO SEE VOLCANIC ERUPTION – KRAKATOA About 6 1/2 minutes long.
From Dave & Kathie: The Parks Department boat abandon the East end of Krakatoa at 4:30 PM on the 2nd, shortly after we began to see plums of smoke in the trees just West of their camp. They had one or two tourists on board and spent the night near us on the North shore of Krakatau. They were the only other witnesses to this eruption. Five more volcano watcher boats arrived on the morning of the 3rd after the big show was over. Day time view of Krakatoa….Enjoy the video link at the top of this Photo Gallery….
From Dave & Kathie: The Krakatoa eruption we videoed began the morning of September 2nd, built throughout the afternoon, roared all that sleepless night, and ended late in the morning of the 3rd. We were at anchor about 2 NM South (upwind) on the North shore of Krakatau, along with some very excited (concerned?) dolphins. Note: This video was taken right around the time we were in Bali and they were between Java and Sumatra, Indonesia.
My cousin Janice had a friend “Kedek” whom we met while on this day tour.
